As an insurance broker and financial advisor, my commitment is to work transparently and effectively with my clients. The purpose is to "build a bridge" to better secure a financial future. Education and experience provide me with the skills to analyze and organize my client's financial concerns to satisfy their short and long term goals.
When widowed at the age of 39, I strongly understood in the value of insurance, saving for daily living, retirement and estate planning. After some reflection, I decided to become a financial advisor.
I enjoyed a successful entrepreneurial career as a partner in two Imperial Oil Agencies (bulk fuel sales/trucking businesses/gas station/card-lock) with my late husband for 11 years. In addition, I have gained working experience in public and private industries including transportation, banking, manufacturing, and municipal government over my career.
Being a single mother raising my children, was what strongly motivated me to move forward. I volunteered as a coach in youth competitive curling. It is amazing to witness the confidence competitive sport can offer an individual. Confidence in decision making, handling pressure situations, sportsmanship and most of all working with others one step at a time. Competitive sport prepares young people for the real world and challenges that ultimately they will face overtime. I enjoyed getting to know their friends a bit better and hopefully I left some memories in the fold.
I also volunteered as the treasurer for Vernon Scouting at that time. My son enjoyed rock climbing and travelling to Ontario with the senior scouts to a Jamboree in Ontario. Our senior scouting committee raised far more money than needed for the trip so we were able to contribute to the kitty for scouts of all ages.
I completed my Degree in Business Administration at Okanagan University College. I obtained my Coaching - Level 2 for Amateur Sport in British Columbia. In addition, I obtained my Canadian Investment Funds Course - IFIC. Moreover, I obtained my Life Insurance Agent licence, including Accident & Sickness, at the Insurance Council of British Columbia and at the Alberta Insurance Council Therefore, I am licenced in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada to complete insurance business on a professional basis.
I was so fortunate to meet my husband, when I was attending university. We both have a love for photography and just being in nature. Whether at the beach, going for a drive or enjoying music its where I recharge my batteries. My husband is an accomplished drummer and I enjoy videoing his performances, just for fun. We now have a blended family of 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
I need to count my blessings...
My approach has always been customer focused throughout my career. I will continue to focus on client needs to ensure that my clients receive sound advice regarding investments and insurance.
